Mark Alan Rowland (1945-2014) formed Rowland & Company in Atlanta in 1977 with the goal of serving individual investors from an institutional construct. A generational Eagle Scout who grew up in Milledgeville, Georgia, he abandoned engineering after three years at the Georgia Institute of Technology for degrees in Economics and Finance at Oglethorpe University.
